What Causes Tonsils Leakage With A Bitter Discharge And An Occasional Stone?

For the last two months, My right tonsil leaks a yellowish salty sometimes bitter discharge- almost all day. If I don t push it out 4-5 times a day, I m miserable. Occasionally, a tonsil stone will also pop out. My left tonsil does not have any discharge and rarely has tonsil stones. I watch my gluten, dairy and caffeine. What is happening? Thank you

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in H.C.M.

I understand your concern, here I would like to tell you that your tonsils are diseased and they are having all signs of chronic tonsillitis. The infected watery discharge from tonsils is actually the pus and the white pieces oozes out from tonsils on pressing it the organised pus that we call as keratosis. Some times it takes the form of stone (tonsilolith).

Curative treatment for such tonsils is only surgical ( tonsillectomy ). So please consult ENT doctor for the same.

Probably above answers your query.

Thanks for consulting H.C.M.
