What Causes Tooth Ache And Ear Ache?

What might be causing me to have throbbing in my teeth and ear pain (mainly on my right side) plus drainage into my throat plus a headache almost daily. Also, I ve been experiencing a lot of fatigue lately too. I ve missed a lot of work in the past year and the beginning of this year due to the tiredness and headaches plus sore throat with the drainage. Nothing yellow/green from my nose though. I m going for a sleep consultation and an allergy test next week. Thanks

Hello,

Your symptoms of generalized ache in teeth, postnasal drip or drainage down the throat, headache and fatigue are probably due to sinus infection or sinusitis. So my suggestion is to, first of all, consult an emergency room and get yourself checked.

If the sinus infection is suspected, you can be advised a sinus x-ray or PNS view x-ray to rule out the exact cause of the problem. You can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin or Cephalexin etcetera to reduce infection. Along with its anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen can be advised to reduce inflammation and pain.

To reduce the pressure you can be advised decongestant nasal sprays like Otrivin. Do steam inhalation and saline nasal irrigation and use a humidifier in your room. Drink warm water and avoid spicy foods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
