What Causes Toothache?

I have painful, sensitive and sometimes throbbing teeth. This has been ongoing for 6 months. It's more or less constant and not due to hot/cold things. Have tried sensodyne with no luck. Sometimes it's accompanied by headache. Dentist also had me try a mouth guard thinking I may be clinching my teeth. That hasne't helped either.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well, painful, sensitive and throbbing teeth can be due to deep gum infection or can be due to generalised dental hypersensitivity..
If it is associated with headache and the symptoms are more profound with upper teeth then it can be related to Sinusitis..
So my suggestion is to get a full mouth x ray or OPG done for narrowing down the exact cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
For now you can take painkillers like Ibuprofen for relieving pain..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
