What Causes Trembling In The Lips Along With Weakness In The Arms?

My 13 year old daughter s lips were trembling for about 40 minutes. She says her jaw was shivering, and now feel stiff, and her arms feel weak. This happened yesterday also. Her temp is 97.5. She has had a cough and is now telling me she is coughing up clear stuff.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely she has had shivering due to fever when she had the trembling of the lips. This can be the case especially because she is having cough as well and this might be due to a viral infection she might be having.

If you notice this happen again make sure you check her temperature. If you think it is not related to the temperature then you will need to send her to see the doctor and make sure these are not seizures.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
