Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tremors Along With Paranoia While On Xanax And Effexor?
I m concerned about someone who tells me he is taking Xanax, Hydrocodone, Effexor, and Zyprexa. this seems like a dangerous combination. He is reporting tremors, he is agitated and confused, he slurs his words, and seems paranoid. I am an LCSW working for an EAP program. Other than advising him to seek medical treatment, is there any thing else I should do? he denies any suicidal Homicidal thoughts. But he thinks some one is poisoning him.
Hydrocodone and effexor induced interaction. Taking hydrocodone while on effexor can cause a serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which is characterized by symptoms such as agitation, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, high blood pressure and heart rate, excessive sweating, shivering blurred vision, muscle spasm and tremors. He should avoid taking these drug combinations and consult his doctor for alternate effective but safer medications.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
