Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have almost imperceptible tremors in my right thigh. I cannot feel them with my hand, but I can feel them in my body - i.e., I sense them, but when I put my hand on the back of my thigh, I cannot feel anything. This has been going on for a couple of days, almost constantly. It does not affect me in any other way - no weakness in my legs, no discomfort, just a sensation like I am on a vibrating platform (like when the subway comes into the station).
Hello there, Based on your symptoms you seem to be having muscle fasciculations. They are normally harmless and generally occur if some muscle of your body that is not used regularly is suddenly put into extended use. For example if you have a sedentary lifestyle and you start walking a lot or starting a workout regimen . Such tremors/fasciculations aggravate more if you stretch your foot or put pressure on the heel of your foot while standing.
As of now you need not do anything drastic to treat them. They will disappear in a few days. Some times they are caused by mild electrolyte disturbances especially in case of calcium or potassium. Having bananas or coconut water and milk or yoghurt supplement any deficit of these electrolytes and will cause the fasciculations to stop.
Keep a watch for another week. if they still persist then we can investigate them further.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to address any further queries to me,
