What Causes Tremors In The Arms And Legs While Suffering From A UTI?

I have a 9 year old niece, who s mother over reacts and is quick to take her to urgent care and drs. She is currently on Albuteral, Clinomycin, Nexium, Allegra, Flonase, Advair, Synthroid and Singulair. This child has been to every kind of specialist available. Currently she is being treated for a UTI and Strept throat, diagnosed Saturday at Urgent Care in North Georgia. Today she started having what her mother describes as Parkinson like tremors, jerking of the legs and arms, not necessarily at the same time. Started with both legs and then both arms, now is just the right arm. Mother took her to a Children s Healthcare at Cherokee, somewhere in north georgia today and the dr was not concerned enough for the mother. I will be very surprised if they are not at another urgent care or ER before bedtime. She has an appointment with her regular pediatrician in the morning. Any suggestions as to may be reactions to any of the meds she is on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The tremors the child has could come from weakness due to her ill health,/ no sufficient nutrition/ ordure to antibiotics. It can also follow a high dose of in thyroid.

Nutritious diet easy to digest, rest, a lot of warm water, vitamin B complex supplement along with treatment advised for the infection.

Discussing Sinthyroid dosage with the treating endocrinologist would help.

He needs to have a full physical check-up &related investigations done after his present infection gets cured. To satisfy his mother about her child's well-being &health.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
