What Causes Tremors In The Hands After Taking A Shower?

Hi! For the past 8 years... most of my 30 s, I have been getting shaky hands after I shower. Baths as well and anytime I am really hot. I have had mild anemia off and on during my three pregnancies (only time I ve been tested for it). My last pregnancy I got gestational diabetes at the age of 36 but it went away. I was also diagnosed with PCOS during mid 30 s although I ve managed to have 3 heathy children. My blood pressure is always in the healthy range when tested so I m not sure why I get so shaky after I shower?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your question. Please rate my answer if you are satisfied. To begin with, when your body temperature is high due to any reason (taking hot bath or having a fever or being in the sun for quite a while) and the temperature of the environment is rather cool, the difference of your body temperature to the environment causes your body to lose heat to the environment constantly. This loss of heat triggers the heat conservation centers of your body to produce more heat to compensate the loss. Shivering is one of the common such bodily mechanism. This is one explanation of your hands shaking after bath. Why this doesn't happen to others? Well because everyone else may have enough sugars in their body to use as fuel for heat production but you on the other hand might be avoiding sugars due to the fact that you had gestational diabetes or you even might be on a medicine that causes you to store less sugars in your body (like metformin). To prove me right, try drinking a sweet juice before taking bath next time.
