What Causes Tremors In The Hands And Legs While On Lupron?

My husband is on Lupron for Prostate cancer. When he is asleep his body goes goes into violent jerking motions, mostly his legs but sometimes his arms also. He does not seem to be aware of it. I have to jerk him awake to stop the motions. Any idea if this could be from the Lupron. The problem started about the same time as the injections.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, he needs neurologist review and workups for basal ganglia lesion. Symptoms may be suggestive of extra pyramidal syndrome but focal or material cause of the symptoms should be worked up. Brain imaging and CT or MRI scan may also be needed. But less likely to be GnRH analogues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
