What Causes Tremors In The Lower Jaw When Diagnosed With Down Syndrome?

My son is 15 years old with Down Syndrome. A year and half ago he developed PNA was intubated for 2 weeks, icu for 28 days hospitalized a total of 42 days. Started with a cold/cough, decreased PO intake sore throat. He is know presenting with cough symptoms and congestion. Developed a quivering lower jaw that he can stop temporarily. He denies feeling ill. Any thoughts on what may be causing this quivering?

Since when he is having tremors??

How old is he??

It may be due to jaw muscle clonus seen in downs syndrome or muscular dystrophy.

myasthenia also may present like this, parkinsonism or cerebellar disorders patients may present with tremors.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
