What Causes Tremors In The Upper Body While On Warfarin And Metropolol?
my friends mother ( a senior 85 y/o, Korean , decent) is experiencing upper body tremors, hands head, recent onset of 1-2 months. she is on warfarin, metropolol , has a pacemaker. could it B a side effect from an RX. I m not not sure what other meds. she takes.?
Tremors can be a side effect of medication, but it can also be a side effect of many other problems including neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease.
I would need a history of the time course of when she started to have the tremors in relation to the start of her medications.
Also, whether the tremors occur at rest versus when she starts to move. So I would need more information about her medical problems, medications, and an exam.
If the tremors are new or getting worse, or have never been evaluated then she should discuss this with her primary doctor and may need a referral to a neurologist to go over her history and do a thorough exam.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
