What Causes Twinges Around Belly Button While HPT Is Negative?

I had a umbicalical hernia repaired February 2014. For the past week and a half I have been getting twinges around my belly button. I am due any day for my period. I had taken two pregnancy tests and they were both negative. I just didn t know if it s normal to have twinges this far out after surgery or if I could be pregnant. Thank you.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it may cause crampy pains for few weeks due to inner layers of abdomen been repaired during surgery. But if it persists CT abdomen or surgical review may be needed to rule out any impacted bowel part.

Also observe whether pain decreases after periods or not. If not ultrasound pelvis and abdomen may also be needed. Meanwhile OTC analgesic like acetaminophen and anti spasmodic like drotaverine can be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
