What Causes Twitching Sensation In Thumb?

Hi. This question isn't particularly for me but for a friend. Anyways, his thumb wont stop twitching and it have been going on for somthing like three days now. He dose not know how to get it to stop. Do you have any tips or an idea of how to make it stop?
