What Causes Two Periods In A Month?

Hi, I had a baby 5 months ago and am now on microgynon contraception pill. I normally have a peiod in my week break but this month i have also had another period half way through which has lasted a week so far and my pill finishes for the month on sunday so i should be due for another one. Why is this?
