What Causes Ulcers On The Tongue, Cheeks And Lips?
I have a cottony feeling in my mouth, a few sores on my tongue and inside of my lip and cheek area. I am treated for GERD and have acid when I lie down at night. I have raised my bed. Is there anything I can do for the pain and dry feeling in my mouth? Thanks.
Well, cottony feeling in mouth along with dryness is commonly seen if you have yeast infection in mouth known as Oral Thrush.. Sores in mouth can also be secondary to infection.. However acid reflux is also a common cause for ulcers in mouth due to chemical damage to the mucosa.. So my suggestion is to first of all consult an Oral Physician and get a clinical examination done to check for whether you have thrush or not. If not so then treatment of mouth sores will be given that is commonly gargling with numbing mouthwash like those containing Lignocaine, taking Vitamin B complex and going warm saline rinses.. Avoid spicy and irritant foods and take soft and bland diet.. If there is dryness in mouth then you can chew sugar free chewing gums and drink plenty of water..
Hope you get well soon..
Regards.
