Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i woke up with numerous small cankers on my tongue. I saw the dr at the walkin clinic on Tuesday july 11 and he suggest is may be B12 and or iron deficiency. I have take 2 tablets for each so far and the extreme pain is gone but now I have a yellowish tinge at the back of my tongue and the roof of my mouth and no taste. I am also urinating about once every hr. It comes on quickly and I have to almost run to make it to the washroom on time. I have made a dr apt but cannot get in until aug. 10. My fear is what if I have thrush do I not need medication to get rid of it? My email address is YYYY@YYYY
If you have sores on tongue and already diagnosed with Vitamin B 12 and Iron deficiency then the first thing that you need to do is to start proper supplements of iron and vitamin B12..
The yellow coating on tongue can be due to insufficient cleaning at the back of tongue and distaste can be due to inflammation and damage to the tongue papillae.. Other cause of excessive urination and loss of taste can be due to the medication that you are talking..
So if the symptoms are annoying you should consult your physician and get evaluated.. If the ulcers are painful you can apply Lidocaine gel over the sores and do warm saline gargles..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
