What Causes Unbearable Pain In The Spine?

I have been working out around 4-5 days a week for the past 3 years. My routine consists of 30 minutes of cardio, 1 hour of specific weight training (chest day one , back day 2, legs day 3, shoulders day 4, bicep/ triceps day 5) and stretching for 10-15min at the end. My sciatic nerve is killing me and nothing seems to help alleviate the dull ache down the back of my leg. It s getting to the point of unbearable pain. I ve seen a chiropractor and that did nothing...what should I do? I m in the best shape I ve ever been in but always feel achy=(

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should rest for the first 24 hours. Then you should start physical therapy. You may need to take naproxen for pain and inflammation. Do an X-ray of the spine to check it's conditioning.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
