Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain it seems to be due to
PERICORONITIS that is inflammation of gum flap that surround and at times partially covers the wisdom tooth and inflammation of the gum flap due to infection caused by food lodgment between the gum flap and wisdom tooth..
The pain in
palate is also due to inflammation, even at times it can cause
sore throat and even pain in ear and side of head as well as there can be severe swelling..
You should consult your
dentist when there is pain and swelling and get an
x ray done so that it can be ruled out that whether the wisdom tooth will erupt completely or is impacted..
In case if it is impacted once the swelling goes down extraction should be done followed by antibiotics and painkillers for permanent relief..
If it is not impacted then removal of the gum flap under local anaesthesia will relieve..
As of now continue taking Penicillin as well as you should take Painkillers like
Ibuprofen which is Anti-inflammatory painkiller and helps in reducing pain as well as swelling..
Take Ibuprofen 800mg thrice a day..
Do warm saline gargles..
Do
cold compresses over the swelling..
Hopefully pain and swelling will start subsiding in 3 to 4 days..
Hope this information helps..
