What Causes Unbearable Pain While Coughing Or Sneezing?
I sneezed a couple days ago and thought I cracked a rib. Not to mention I am 24 weeks pregnant. I have a virus also. When I cough or sneeze I am in the most unbearable pain I could ever imagine. I can t bend from side to side, and it hurts to take that breath to blow your nose. Could you please tell me what to do?
It is possible that you may have pleuritis. This is inflammation of the lining of the lungs. It can occur in infections though they are other causes as well.
It can be associated with pain which can be worse with coughing/sneezing or laughing.
The anti inflammatory pain medication that is normally used (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin, cataflam), cannot be used in pregnancy but you can try paracetamol to see if it helps you. You can also use cough and cold medication to control these symptoms.
Hi, It seems that due to viral infection and cough reflex there might be having muscle pull leading to spasm of coastal muscle giving this problem. Due to pregnancy there might be having some postural changes precipitates the problem. Apply some muscle relaxant, analgesic cream locally. Ok and take care.
