Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get this feeling that something is stuck in my food pipe. This happens one or two times a day and rest of the time I don t have this feeling. I really don t have any problems swallowing or anything. When I get this feeling I really feel that some thing is stuck. Why do I get this feeling? Thank you for answering
What you feeling as something stuck in your food pipe may actually be an upper respiratory tract infection with sore throat or tonsillitis. Both these conditions are known to cause difficulty in swallowing. If I were your treating doctor, I'd advice you to have a antibiotic course and warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day. This should bring considerable relief to you.
Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubts. Regards, Dr Sridhar

What Causes Uneasiness In The Food Pipe?
Dear Friend. Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern. This can be due to any of the following reasons: 1. Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) 2. Esophageal spasm. 3. Malignancy of esophagus. I don t have your details, like age, sex, smoking status. Try taking a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone once a day. If you don t get relief by this also, get an Upper GI Endoscopy done. This is my personal opinion for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me. Stay Healthy Dr Anshul Varshney, MD
