What Causes Unexplained Soreness Of Big Toe?

i am 15 and when i was at school my big toe was sore and when i came home and looked at it was dark purple black and it was on the bottom of my toe.it doesnt hurt any more but it looked like it had blood under it so i got a pin and pocked it and a little bit of i think blood came out what is it?
