What Causes Unusually Heavy Menstruation?

I have a pretty regular cycle and just had my period on time last week. The last few days I have been bleeding again it seems in large rushes and there were a few clots. I did drink alcohol for NYE, does this contribute in any way? It seems when I drink a heavy amount of alcohol I bleed/spot.

Hyper bleeding in any form, through any route, is due to 'raktapitta' vitiation and that is triggered by oral stimulants such as spices, chillies, alcohol etc in people prone to such bleeding.

Prawal pishti, Shubhra bhasm and Naagkeshar powder are marvellous Ayurveda medicines, safe, effective, no side effects in such cases.
