What Causes Upper Abdominal And Back Pain With Poor Appetite?
I have significant pain in my abdomen, under the xiphoid process. I had achiness in my back for the previous 2 days so I thought it was flu s/s, but now the achiness has resided, but my upper abdomen is still very tender. I have not had any change in apetite, but I feel worse after i eat for 30 minutes or so. At night the pain is worse when i lay down, and improves when i sit up.

Hello,
I think this pain is typically related to gastritis. You may need to treat it with Ppi drugs such as omeprazole for at least 4 weeks. Doing a fybroscopy may help you through diagnosis.
