What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain Along With Cough?

I am a 47 year old woman who is reasonably healthy and yesterday I developed a sudden pain in my left side of my upper abdomen. It hurts when I breathe in or cough and my collar bone area is also in discomfort. It is bothersome to lay down as well. what is going on

I can understand your concern.
Left upper abdominal pain, cough, left shoulder pain etc are commonly seen with pleural effusion.
So get done chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for pleural effusion or other lung diseases.
Sometimes simple musculoskeletal pain can be the cause.
So take simple painkiller like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Apply warm water pad on affected areas.
