What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain Radiating To Back, Nausea And Distended Stomach?

I have been ill for 6 months with all the symptoms of pancreatitis. Some times the blood tests are not normal and then they say they are normal. I was hospitalized for the whole month of Oct. but I am still very uncomfortable with pain in upper abdomen radiating through to my back, nausea, weakness, etc. I take onfansetron 8mg every 8 hour, hydromorphone 1mg. 2 at a time every 4 hours. My abdomen is distended and I can t wear my regular clothing, sit up for long and generally feel awful. Where can I get further help as the Doc s here in Kitchener Waterloo can t get to the bottom of the problem. I can t afford to pay for this advice.

Hello,
based on what you said, it is most likely a case of chronic pancreatitis and it require further tests to look into cause. Most common cause is either stone in gallbladder or alcohol use. You are experiencing distension of stomach most probably due to either pancreatic enzyme insufficiency or gastritis.

you can give a trial of Tab. omeprazole 40mg once daily before breakfast.
