What Causes Upper Abdominal Pain?

My husband is 40, and he exsperiences upper abdominal pain near his hyatal, and right side. He has always has indigestion. Gerd. Gallbladder disease runs in his family so bad that our son at 9yrs had his gallbladder removed. I also had mine removed . So I am familiar with symptoms. I also think he may have a hyatal hernia. He is not fond of hospital. Is there any thing that can help at home. He gets some relief from Braggs apple cider.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There is no such home remedy or treatment at home for hiatus hernia. Please get USG ABDOMEN to rule out the cause of his problem along with following test.

1. CBC. 2. Liver profile. 3. Kidney profile.

The cause for his abdominal problem could be one of these.

1. Hyperacidity.
2. Cholecystitis.
3. Cholelithiasis.
4. Crohns disease.
5. Ulcerative colitis.

Exact treatment would depend on diagnosis.

Hope this help. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shajra Mukadam
