What Causes Upper Thighs And Hip Pain With Negative TB?

My mother is suffering from pain in upper thigh/hip since last 6 months.She consulted a number of doctors but all in vain.Now present Doctor will conduct a test for bone TB.I am very much worried,If it will be positive,how long treatment will continue or need surgery for that? or any other risk?
