What Causes Urge To Take Deep Breaths?

hi ... I have had an ongoing issue for a couple years.... it started off about every few minutes I would have to take a deep breath no for apparent reason no it seem as though I have to tke this breathe every minute and sometimes I struggle to get the air that I need. I went to the doctor and they referred me to a cardiologist (my appt is Tuesday) but I was wondering if you know wht this could be?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sleep deprivation while taking Gabapentin and Ativan . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like anxiety , stress , smoking , obesity , allergies , asthma , sleep apnea , emphysema and cardiovascular problems . I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order lung function tests or pulmonary function tests to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may refer you to cardiologist in case of heart problem or psychologist in case of problem caused by stress and anxiety . I would suggest you to do relaxing exercises like meditation and yoga .
