What Causes Urinary Incontinence While On Concerta ER?

My ten year old is on his second week of Concerta ER 18mg. Tonight, for the first time ever, he urinated involuntarily. He said, just before the urination which he did not feel coming, he was having difficulty making his hands do what his brain said i.e. plugging in headphones. Could it be a cause of Concerta or should I ask his pediatrician for other answers? Luke is very self aware and requested to see the doctor regarding medication of his own accord. This was unusual enough to cause me deep concern.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Concerta is NOT a medication that is known to cause involuntary urination. It is likely that he had this symptom as a separate feature which needs evaluation if he has recurrent episodes of involuntary urination. At the moment, I would not be unduly worried about this and would wait and watch for a few more days if the urinary incontinence recurs.
