What Causes Urinary Retention After Removing Bladder Stones?

MY HUSBAND IS 37 YEARS OLD AN HAS HAD A TOTAL OF 5 SERGERYS FOR BLADDER STONE REMOVEL, 4 WITH IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. HIS DRS SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IS TO CATH HIMSELF. HE IS NOW SUFFERING WITH URINARY RETENTION. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US WITH A SOLUTION TO THIS ONGOING PROBLEM?

Hello,

It might be a detrusor instability following stone surgery.

Generally, it will resolve by itself.

He might require catheterization and drugs like tamsulosin for few weeks. Consult a urologist for expert opinion.
