What Causes Vaginal Area Burning Sensation Continuously?

my daughter, shes 21. is complaining of a burning sensation, not necessarily when she urinates but in that area when she walks, sits, anytime?? she has no discharge she says? thought it could be UTI but no burning when she pees???what else could it be or are there any over the counter medicine besides vitamin C & cranberry juice??
