What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After An Intercourse While On Mirena?

I had my Mirena put back in for the second time March 30. I have noticed this time I m continuing to have a clear watery discharge with no odor. The discharge is all day and I have to constantly change my underwear because I m so wet. Also everytime I have intercourse with my husband I bleed like I m having a period then the next day it stops. This has happened four times and we re at the point we don t want to have sex because we think there will be bleeding? Should I get the Mirena removed???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This bleeding after intercourse and watery discharge daily is not much related to Mirena usage. Probably it can be related to infection and you should do a vaginal smear and even a pap smear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
