What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?

I had sex last night and in tge middle if it i started to bleed. My boyfriend and I just figured i had started my period and just carried on. This morning i woke up swollen and still bleeding. After i showered i had looked at it and realized i had what almost looks like a fraction burn on the inside of my labia. I m not sure what to do to help it heal or make the swelling go down.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
It looks like you had a traumatic intercourse which caused this bleeding due to the local injury inflicted as a result. You need a thorough local and speculum examination to locate the bleeding source. Please see a specialist immediately. If you are due for your period, it may add to the bleeding; period discharge, though, is not continuous and it occurs in bouts. The swelling may be reduced by applying ice packs and so is the bleeding until you get further help. Please maintain genital hygiene and strictly avoid further intercourse until you are properly healed. Take care.
