What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?

I had sex with a girl who was pretty experienced only way to put it, I was giving her holly and she started bleeding , but everything was grand I had a shower and so did she, the next time I wasn't going as hard and still managed to make her bleed , so I said we should both get checked as vaginal bleeding isn't normal during sexual imtercourse. I noticed a small spot pink growing on the purple helmet at the side where you pull down the skin of my penis so I started to get a little frightedend, I'm seeking a quick answer before I go std on that spot , any tips? Is this shphillis ghonorrhea/chlymidia (sometimes it feels like a pressure and an itch also) aids or something serious like that ? Thank you for reading.

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Slight bleeding during or after intercourse may be due to partial hymen rupture, rough sex, blunt trauma or tissue injury, vaginal infection or dryness (lack of lubrication), hormonal imbalance etc.

Most of time, this type of bleeding stops automatically within 2-3 days without medical intervention.

2) Medicine like Tranexamic acid can be taken for 3 days to arrest bleeding temporarily. Use proper lubrication during sex.

3) Lastly, I suggest you to consult with gynecologist if bleeding continues more than 3 days. One ultrasound scan is advisable to detect uterine or cervical pathology like polyp or endometriosis etc. Do one pap smear test also.

Maintain genital hygiene properly. Wish your good health. Good luck.
