GOODEVENING SIR,TODAY DR HAVE ASKED MY GRANDMOTHER TO DO A "DLC EEB'' TEST AFTER HAVING CONFIRMATION THROUGH PAP TEST WHICH REVEAL "ATHROPHY"WHO IS 67 YEARS OF AGE, HAD STOPED HER MENSTURAL CYCLE 15 YEARS BACK,,SUDDENTLY HAVE THE COMPLIN OF BLEEDING.
WHY DOES THIS TEST DO?& WHAT CAN BE CONFIRMED OUT OF IT?AMIT BOSE,KOLKATA-118.

Hi,

The most common cause of post menopausal bleeding is vaginal atrophy so a course of tranaxemic acids may be required. Also, cancer of endometrium needs to be excluded by doing an ultrasound of lower abdomen to determine endometrial thickness.
