What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Removal Of A Cervical Polyp?

Hello, I am worried about my symptom. I was diagnosed for cervical polyp when I visited the doctor on Wednesday morning. My doctor said it was at the entrance of womb.I have been taking period from Sunday. But I had lots of bleeding on Tuesday afternoon at around 5pm. I was told no need to go to emergency for bleeding if the bleeding would not happen again by my doctor. So, I visited my doctor the next day which is Wednesday. My doctor removed a little ( I think half) of cervical polyp. The night after the removal of cervical polyp, I was feeling hurt and sweatering when I was trying to sleep. I did not take any prescription such as antibiotics etc. But my finger was swallened and I felt painful of my navel the next morning. Every night I was sweatering once at midnight. Today is Monday at around 4:40am and I was bleeding a lot suddenly. I got up. I have been bleeding like a little spot after the polyp removal. But I thought the bleeding finished completely on Sunday night. I often felt blowing of my stomach after the polyp removal. I am a virgin. Is this the symptom of cancer? I am still a student. I am scared now. I hope anyhow could answer my question.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

That is very less likely. You should not worried about it. It's just polyps, which should be completely removed. In females, hormonal imbalances cause menorrhagia. Be positive and you will be ok. Some surgical or invasive work up should be done. Please start taking preventive antibiotics because sometimes periprocedural infection can occur.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
