What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Levonelle?
Hi, I've taken Levonelle? the 27th after having unprotected sex the previous night- it also happens that my period stopped the previous day. this past Monday i started bleeding again and today it's busy clearing up- it was dark brown in appearance. Is this implantation or a period?
1. Levonelle [lenonorgestrel] is taken to reduce the chances of getting pregnant, if you have/had unprotected intercourse and since you have taken the tablet within 72 hours of the same chances of getting pregnant are remote but if your next cycle is abnormal in any way [as you said] you should consult your doctor for pregnancy test [since ectopic pregnancy can be there] or can do the UPT [urine pregnancy test] at home by yourself.
2. Certain points to remember are: . As you have taken the tablet it is necessary for you to use an alternate barrier method of contraception such as a condom or cap, until your next period comes. . Ask an OB & GYN doctor about regular methods of contraception. . This medicine is not recommended for repeated use, as it can disrupt your menstrual cycle and neither it protects from sexually transmitted infections.
