What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Norethisterone?

Hello Doctors - ive been prescribed to take norethisterone + EE once my period started (2nd day), i have recently experienced bleeding for 3 weeks and haave thick uterine lining, will the pill gain me more weight since i am already 143pounds at 5 5. please help . TIA.

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation first to find the cause of prolonged bleeding. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries. It can be due to some thyroid disorder or polycystic ovarian syndrome. If any abnormality is there, it should be treated. You can gain weight by taking norethisterone and ethinyl estradiol. So, first get yourself investigated. You may need some other hormonal treatment. Also try to lose some weight. It will be of great help. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
