What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Postinor-2?
I used postinor 2 on 17th of december and my period came out dec 26. I used it again in jan 6th and saw my period on jan 11. I didnt have unprotected sex and was expecting to see my period in February but i didnt so i went ror test and it showed that I m pregnant. Is it possible that i was already pregnant since dedember and the postinor 2 did not work the 2 times i used it? And what was the bleeding?
Emergency contraceptive pills are 95 percent effective when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. When taken after this period, the efficiency further decreases. Hence, you may have become pregnant since these pills may not be 100 percent effective. I would suggest you to take an ultrasound and determine the gestational age and health of the fetus in order to decide further management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
