What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramping With History Of Uterine Fibroid Embolization?

I am 54 and had a uterine fibroid embolization a couple of years ago. I ve been fine since then. My periods stopped when I was 52. For the past couple of days I ve been seeing some very faint dark red bleeding from my vagina and some very light cramping. It is very light- should I be concerned? I am due for my annual exam soon. My email is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the post menopausal vaginal bleeding, must be evaluated with utmost care to rule out underlying precancerous or cancerous condition of endometrium, cervix or else.

* It is best needed to get cervical biopsy with inclusion of transformation zone for the best results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
