What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps During Second Trimester Of Pregnancy?

I m currently 20 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I ve been having issues with my pregnancy, I had marginal previa which was causing me to bleed for 3 weeks but week ago my OB Gyn told me that my placenta was back in place and my bleeding had stopped. Until today I started bleeding again lightly and I feel pressure in my lower abdomen kind of similar to cramps. Should I go to the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
Any bleeding in pregnancy has to be treated as an emergency, specially when the bleeding is associated with pressure in lower abdomen.. Going to ER & starting with the treatment earliest is ideal.
- A through examination by your gynecologist/ investigations( USG pelvis ) to assess fetal condition is to be followed.. You should then take specific treatment as per your doctor's advise.
Thanks.
