What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Pain While On Implanon?

I had my Implonon inserted in July 2012 in Thailand they give me a card with a removal date July 2017, they said it is for 5 years. I never had any problems and had no period. The last 2 months I started bleeding, lightly and it is not going away and it is extremely painfull. When it stops it is away for 3-5 days and starts all over again. Can a normal GP remove it or how do I go about this?

Understand your concern.

Implanon is type of long-acting reversible contraception, the most effective form of birth control.
It inhibits the ovulation and implantation..

Common side effects of implanon are below:
Irregular bleeding and spotting: Delayed period, dysmenorrhoea
weight gain
Ovarian cysts
Acne

So I think it may be side effects.
It is generally due to hormonal imbalance

If not resolved
You can consult the gynecologist:
Do the full hormonal profile like E2, FSH, LH, pogesterone, HCG, Prolactin, Thyroid profile.
If necessary endometrial biopsy, follicle study and USG.

If bleeding is excessive consult the Gp and you can remove it and then consult the gynecologist
