What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Discomfort After Intercourse?

The facts. After my partner and I had intercourse for the first time she has had a fair amount of bleeding since (2 days). She menopausal and has not had another partner in a couple of years. She is also having some discomfort. I am concerned and wish to know if this is common and cause for concern. Thanks
