What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During And After Sexual Intercourse?

For the past 4 years off and on I bleed during/after sex. Me and my husband are the only partners each of us have had. I never had these problems until I had my thyroid killed. It comes and goes n my ob don't seem conerned and says it's probably from my hormones and thyroid. I have normal pap results and have had 3 children in the past 7 years. Shoud I get a second opinion?
