What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Intercourse?

I had sex with my boy friend.. During my 6th day... And there was already some residual bleeding... and wen he did... I felt pain.. Though I pushed him out at one point of time.. I tot it was going in.. After some time I realised there was blood spots on the bed... How do I know if it s my 6th day or is it due to hymen breaking?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Since, the intercourse took place on 6th day with some residual bleeding, it is likely that the bleeding was menstrual in origin. The bleeding increased probably due to mechanical pressure. I suggest you to observe the symptoms. If bleeding occurs again during intercourse then you need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
