What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Intercourse?

hi i am in the middle of sexual intercourse last night and all of the sudden i saw that there is some blood along with the fluid that is in his genital area.. i wipe it out and i realize that it is from me and i had my period every end of the month and it is a regular one. please advice what will be the possible cause.

Hallow Dear,

I understood that you have period every month end; however could not get the period of this incidence. Did this incidence take place at the end of month? In that case, it is most likely to be your menstruation.

If the incidence has occurred midway in your cycle, it can be Mittelschmerz. Mittelschmerz is appearance of some bleeding along with some pain in the one side of abdomen due to egg release. This bleeding usually stops within a couple of days. Egg release takes place 14 days prior to the next expected menses.

If neither is the case, you have to report to the Gynaecologist. You have not mentioned your age. In elderly group (though can be even in younger girls), such post-coital bleeding may take place due to some lesion on the cervix (mouth of the uterus); the most common being cancer of the cervix. Even huge cervical erosion also may cause such bleeding.

Please report to your Gynaecologist for thorough work up and keep a close watch on such incidences getting repeated again.
