What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Intercourse?

My boyfriend and I were having sex last night and I began bleeding. This has happened a few times with him but not often. What could be causing this? I am a 27 year old female, I am 5'7 and weigh 264 lbs (having lost 37 lbs recently), my past history is Migraine, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Gastroparesis and GERD.

Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. The possible causes for the bleeding could be erosions of the cervix, infection of the cervix and vagina, polyps of the cervix and endometrium, hormone imbalances etc. Since this is not a chance finding but a persistent one in recent times, I would ask you to see a specialist immediately and get a proper evaluation. A local exam, pap smear, swabs from the cervix and vagina, sonogram of the pelvis, blood counts, urinalysis and endometrial/cervical biopsy if needed are the necessary things to be done to help plan further management.
