What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Sexual Intercourse?

I expect my cycle within the next 5-7 days, however recently during intercourse experienced some bleeding. There was no flow of blood before intercourse and none afterwards. Was it normal to have this bleeding during intercourse since my cycle is near?
