What Causes Vaginal Bleeding On Genital Manipulation?

When my bf fingers me I bleed sometimes. I know I do not have an infection. My bf keeps his nails trimmed and his hands clean. When I was little I jumped in the tub and a broken toy went in to my vagina and cut it. Could that be the reason for the bleeding? Or is it something else I cant think of?
