General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Metformin is a drug given to PCOD patients to remove insulin resistance & reduce body weight as a part of treating PCOD. Metformin suplementation ( in suitable dose)throughout pregnancy to PCOD patients is observed to reduce possibility of abortion. Still early fetal loss is also many a times due to deficient progesterone hormone. * I would suggest to discuss this with your doctor & get improvised treatment during next conception./ Try conception after complete treatment of PCOD.
Thanks
